Story & Design
A crater rim, a pale moonstone interior.
The Eclipse Crater bowl takes its cues from lunar terrain. An uneven crater-form rim frames a smooth, pale interior, while the dark, volcanic-texture exterior is marked with cobalt-blue accents and mineral-like speckling. The contrast gives the bowl a grounded, elemental presence with a light interior that keeps the form open.
Its rounded shape is made for the small gestures of matcha preparation: adding powder, pouring water, and whisking. After the tea is served, the cratered silhouette remains a sculptural accent on a tea shelf or kitchen counter.
Key Features
- Crater-form rim: An irregular, raised edge gives the bowl its distinct lunar outline.
- Volcanic-texture exterior: A dark, pitted surface creates tactile contrast with the smooth inner bowl.
- Pale interior with cobalt accents: Light glaze and blue details echo the bowl’s dark, stone-like exterior.
- Open matcha bowl shape: The rounded interior leaves room to add water and whisk matcha.
Usage & Styling
A focused vessel for matcha and a sculptural pause between uses.
Add matcha powder and water, then whisk in the bowl with a matcha whisk. The open rim gives the whisk space to move, while the dark exterior keeps the vessel visually grounded on a tea tray or counter. The bowl also works as a display piece when it is not part of a tea ritual.
Matcha, whisk, scoop, and styling props shown in images are not included. Rinse after use and avoid abrasive tools that could mark the glaze.
